Mission Statement

 

“Fiddle Team USA”, has one objective.  That objective is to make a difference in children’s lives in Knox County.  How we do this is by offering them a program that they can be proud of, something that builds confidence, and allows them to find out who they are through the music.  Jeffrey Smith a Florida musician and inspiration behind this company found while playing the violin, that there was much more than just physically playing the instrument, building a bond, or love, with the instrument is a key part of learning to play the violin well.  Jeff’s style can be considered mildly unorthodox, but has a way of teaching the students of the music program to express themselves. We at “Fiddle Team USA” teach our children to be free within the music, allowing the children to experiment with reading and ear playing.  We teach that there are lines in music, but that those lines can be stepped over.  Violin is no longer one-dimensional.  It can be expressed through bluegrass, classical, rock, jazz, and virtually any other music style, and our goal is to allow each of the students to channel their creativity, to there personality.  We want our children to love the violin, not just play it. 

 

We are starting after school programs at Elementary schools and community programs, and hope that every school will have one of our string program at their school within the next couple years.  While children are our main focus, we know that the community would like to be a part of this organization, which is why we are offering adult string programs.  Our Adult strings group is called ______________; this group meets at the “Lane Music | Knoxville” studio in Knoxville TN in the evenings.

 

Why should your child be a part of this program, you may say?  Well, We believe that of all the instruments, the violin is the most versatile.  It also comes in small sizes, just like your little bundle of joy.  When your child learns this remarkable instrument, he/she can play virtually any other instrument, making it a great starter instrument.  Playing classical music has been known to help sharpen math skills, strengthen study skills, and help build confidence. 

 

We also want our teaching environment to be of the highest quality.  We would like your child to learn about the history behind the violin and teach what the violin has done through the years.  We at “Fiddle Team USA” are in need of sponsors.  Sponsors will be the key to reaching all the schools in Knox County. We need sponsors who can donate antique violin paraphernalia or any articles that teach the children of the eras, to allow our children to experience a bit of the past when they come to our studio.  Violin donations are always very much appreciated to help out those children whom cannot afford to play.  We also need financial help from people and organizations whom can be the angels in the programs, looking out for the well being of the children and the program.  For “Fiddle Team USA” to be successful, and make a difference in Knox County we need your help. We want to make history and turn our area into the headquarters for violin activity in the state.  Lets together make a difference in children’s’ lives.
